This workshop is intended for amateur mycologists as well as professional botanists who do survey work and want to brush up on fungi, especially local rare species. The Klamath-Siskiyou region is known for its high biodiversity. Fungi are no exception. Come search for and learn to identify edible, poisonous and other mushrooms above the ground and truffles below. In a variety of Siskiyou locations in Josephine and Del Norte counties, we’ll learn about fungal connections to the mycorrhizal network and particular habitats and trees with which they’re associated. Time will be split between field and classroom/lab activities.
