Dive into the world of Lepidoptera! The course will begin with an evening presentation introducing participants to butterflies & moths…what they are, what they do, the extraordinarily high biodiversity of the region, and the species we are most likely to see in the field. Saturday and Sunday will be entirely field-based as we head outdoors to practice our observational, netting, and identification skills among dozens of butterfly and moth species.

*Field days are moderately difficult (1-3 miles of hiking per day and/or climbs of up to 500 ft)

*Covid-19 protocols in place. Masks required for all in person courses.
