Can you tell a fir from a pine? An ash from a maple?  Tree blindness, especially conifer confusion are common maladies – but this course will cure you. There are numerous examples of native Oregon trees, including some very old and large conifers, at Riverside Park in Grants Pass. You will learn how to use all of your senses to identify trees by their bark, leaves, flowers and seeds, plus interesting stories about their history and uses. Appropriate for families with young children as well as older adults, although walking on uneven ground may be involved.

Field day is easy (easy-going walking of less than 1 mile, frequent stops).

Ages 12+ welcome.

Suggested Book: Trees to Know in Oregon, Ed Jensen, available at OSU Extension Offices.
